This Privacy Policy explains how Daily Book (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles information when you use the Daily Book mobile application.
Daily Book is a daily hisab / card book app for vendors and customers (milk, tiffin, water, newspaper, laundry, and similar services). It is designed to work offline first. Your main records stay on your device unless you choose optional backup, export, or related features.
Important summary
- Daily Book does not store your card book records on ACKPlus servers by default.
- Customers, cards, entries, payments, reports, and settings are stored locally on your device.
- Cloud backup to Google Drive is optional and only runs if you connect Google and use backup.
- Backups go into your Google account’s private Drive app-data area — not onto ACKPlus servers.
- You are responsible for keeping backups of important data.
1. Information we collect or access
What we access depends on the features you use.
1.1 Local app data (on your device)
The app stores records locally on your device. This may include:
- Customer names, phone numbers, and related details
- Service cards (milk, tiffin, water, tea, newspaper, laundry, custom, etc.)
- Daily entries, quantities, rates, and amounts
- Payment records and balances
- Notes you add
- Photos you attach (if you use that feature)
- Reports, export preferences, and app settings
This data stays on your device unless you export it, share it, or enable backup.
1.2 Contacts
If you choose to add customers from phone contacts, the app may request contacts permission. That is used only to help you add customer details into the app.
We do not upload your full contact list to ACKPlus servers. Only details you select may be saved locally as customer records.
1.3 Google Sign-In (optional)
If you connect Google for cloud backup / restore, we may receive basic account information from Google, such as:
- Email address
- Display name
- Profile photo URL (if provided by Google)
This is used only to show which account is connected and to authorize backup features.
1.4 Google Drive app data (optional cloud backup)
If you enable Google Drive cloud backup, Daily Book may create, list, download, restore, and delete backup files in your Google Drive application data folder (drive.appdata).
That folder is a private, app-specific area in your Google account. Daily Book:
- Uses it only for Daily Book backup archives
- Does not read your other Drive files or folders
- Does not upload those backups to ACKPlus servers
Backup archives may include your local database and related attachments (such as photos) needed to restore the app.
You control this feature. If you never connect Google or never run backup, this does not apply.
1.5 Local file export / import (optional)
You may export or import a backup file using device storage / share sheets. Those files are created or read only when you choose that action. Handling of a file after you share it is controlled by the app or service you share it with.
1.6 Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand general app usage and improve the product. This may include:
- Screens visited and feature usage events
- Device type and OS version
- App version
- Approximate region / country
Analytics does not give us direct access to your customer lists, daily entries, or payment amounts as business records.
1.7 Crash and error data
We use Firebase Crashlytics to detect crashes and stability issues. Reports may include:
- Device model and OS version
- App version
- Error logs and diagnostic information
We do not intentionally collect your customer, entry, or payment records through crash reports.
1.8 What we do not collect by default
- We do not require an ACKPlus account to use the core offline app
- We do not sell your personal or business records
- We do not use your card book data for advertising profiles
2. How we use information
We use information only to:
- Provide app features (cards, diary entries, customers, payments, reports, PDF export)
- Store and manage data locally on your device
- Provide optional Google Drive backup and restore when you enable it
- Provide optional local export / import
- Improve reliability, performance, and usability
- Understand general usage through analytics
- Fix crashes and technical issues
- Respond to support requests you send us
3. Offline storage and your responsibility
Daily Book is offline-first. Main app data lives on your device.
We may not be able to recover data if you:
- Uninstall the app
- Clear app data
- Lose, damage, reset, or replace the device
- Experience local database corruption
- Do not keep a working backup
User responsibility: Keep regular backups of important records (Google Drive cloud backup and/or local export). We are not responsible for data loss from uninstalling, device failure, accidental deletion, missing backups, or issues outside our control.
4. Backup and restore
4.1 Google Drive cloud backup
If you connect Google and use cloud backup:
- Backup files are stored in your Google Drive app-data folder
- Auto-backup may run when the app opens or resumes, based on your settings (for example daily / weekly / monthly)
- You can choose how many recent backups to keep; older ones may be deleted automatically according to your setting
- You can manually back up, restore, or delete backups in the app
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your Google account secure
- Confirming backups completed successfully
- Restoring carefully when changing devices
- Understanding that deleting backup files may permanently remove that backup data
4.2 Local export / import
Local export creates a file you can save or share. Import replaces or restores from a file you choose. Always verify you are restoring the correct file.
4.3 No guarantee of perfect backup
We do not guarantee backup or restore will always succeed (network issues, Google account limits, storage restrictions, permission issues, or third-party service outages can interfere).
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not share your daily card book records, customer data, entries, or payments with third parties for marketing.
Limited technical or account-related data may be processed by providers that power optional or supporting features, such as:
- Google (Sign-In and Drive app-data backup, when you enable them)
- Firebase Analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Apple / Google app store update and distribution systems
Those providers process data under their own policies and terms.
6. Third-party services
Daily Book may use:
- Google Sign-In
- Google Drive API (app data folder only, when backup is enabled)
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, and related Firebase services)
- Platform share / file pickers for export, import, and PDF sharing
When you use Google features, Google’s terms and privacy policy also apply to data Google processes.
7. Permissions
Depending on features you use, Daily Book may request:
Permission / accessPurpose
Contacts
Optionally add customers from your phone contacts
Photos / media / files
Attach photos, export/import backups, share PDFs where the OS requires it
Internet
Analytics, crash reporting, Google Sign-In, Drive backup/restore, updates
Notifications
Reminders or alerts if you enable them
You can change permissions in your device settings.
8. PDF export and sharing
Daily Book can generate reports (for example PDF) that may include customer details, entries, amounts, payments, and notes.
You are responsible for reviewing content before sharing. After you share a file through another app (messaging, email, Drive, etc.), that app or service controls how the file is handled.
9. Data security
We take reasonable steps to build a safe app. No device, app, or internet service is completely secure.
Protect your device with a screen lock. If you use Google backup, protect your Google account (strong password and 2-step verification recommended).
10. Data retention
- Local app data: Remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, uninstall, or reset the device.
- Google Drive backups: Remain in your Google account until you delete them in the app or through Google account / Drive controls.
- Analytics / crash data: Retained by Google Firebase according to their retention practices.
How to revoke Google access
You can:
- Disconnect Google from Daily Book settings / backup screen, and/or
- Revoke access in your Google Account under third-party app access / security settings
11. Children’s privacy
Daily Book is intended for general users, vendors, customers, and small businesses. It is not directed at children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Your choices
You can:
- Use the app fully offline without connecting Google
- Connect or disconnect Google
- Enable, disable, or change auto-backup settings
- Create, restore, or delete cloud backups
- Export or import local backup files
- Allow or deny contacts and other permissions
- Delete records inside the app
- Clear app data or uninstall the app
- Delete backup files from your Google account
13. Limitation of responsibility
Daily Book is a record-keeping tool. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of records, entries, payments, balances, reports, and exported files.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for financial or business loss, incorrect entries, missed payments, data loss, accidental deletion, device loss, backup failure, restore failure, or misuse of the app.
14. International processing
If you use Google or Firebase services, some technical or account-related data may be processed on servers outside your country, according to those providers’ practices.
