Effective Date: July 15, 2026
Mediakit ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our app handles user data.
Mediakit is a media utility app that helps users view and save WhatsApp statuses, create status images, resize photos, trim videos, create stickers, use captions, and open WhatsApp chats without saving phone numbers.
1. Information We Collect
Mediakit is designed to work mostly offline. We do not collect, upload, sell, or share your personal photos, videos, statuses, contacts, messages, or files.
The app may access the following data only to provide app features:
- Media Files: The app may request access to photos, videos, or selected folders so you can view, save, resize, trim, clean, or create media.
- WhatsApp Status Folder: If you choose to allow access, the app reads the selected WhatsApp status folder to display statuses. These files remain on your device.
- Phone Number for Direct Chat: If you use the Direct Chat feature, the phone number you enter is used only to open a WhatsApp chat. We do not upload or store this number on our servers.
- Captions and Favorites: If you favorite captions or save media, this information may be stored locally on your device.
- Feedback You Send: If you use the in‑app "Send feedback" option, your message is sent through your own email app to our contact address. To help us respond, the email includes basic diagnostic details — app version and build number, device model, operating system version, and app language. It never includes your media, statuses, or files.
2. How We Use Information
We use locally accessed data only to provide app features, such as:
- Displaying WhatsApp statuses from the folder you select
- Saving statuses to your device
- Resizing photos
- Trimming videos
- Creating status images
- Creating sticker packs
- Opening a WhatsApp chat with a number
- Managing saved media and favorites
We do not use your media or personal content for advertising, tracking, profiling, or selling to third parties.
3. Offline Data Processing and Server Checks
Most app features work directly on your device. Your selected photos, videos, statuses, and generated media are processed locally. We do not upload your media files to our server.
To keep the app working correctly, Mediakit may contact our server (apps.ackbiz.com) to check whether an app update is available and to load the app's advertising configuration. These requests send only your app's package name, version, and platform (Android/iOS) — never your media, statuses, phone numbers, or personal content.
4. Permissions We Request
Depending on the feature you use, Mediakit may request the following permissions:
- Storage / Photos / Videos Permission: Used to select, view, save, resize, trim, or manage media files.
- Folder Access Permission: Used to access the WhatsApp status folder selected by you.
- Camera or Media Picker Permission: Used only if you choose to pick or create media.
- Notification Permission: Only used if the app provides reminders or progress notifications.
You can deny permissions, but some features may not work without them. You can revoke permissions anytime from your device settings. If the app supports connected folder management, you can also disconnect folder access from the app settings.
5. Third-Party Services
Mediakit may use third-party services for app stability, analytics, crash reporting, or ads. These services may collect limited technical information such as device type, app version, crash logs, approximate (coarse) location, advertising identifier, and usage events, depending on your consent and platform settings.
These services may include:
- Google AdMob — for advertisements. AdMob may serve ads through mediation partners, including Unity Ads and Meta Audience Network. These ad networks may collect advertising identifiers and similar technical data to serve and measure ads.
- Firebase Analytics — for app usage analytics.
- Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry — for crash and error reporting.
These third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies.
6. Advertising
Mediakit may show ads to support free app usage.
Ad networks and their mediation partners (including Google AdMob, Unity Ads, and Meta Audience Network) may use advertising identifiers or similar technologies to show ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. Where required by law (for example, in the EEA and UK), we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads; you may otherwise be shown non-personalized ads.
You can limit ad personalization from your device settings. We do not share your personal media, WhatsApp statuses, phone numbers, or files with advertisers.
7. Data Storage
Mediakit may store the following data locally on your device:
- Saved statuses
- Edited photos or videos
- Created status images
- Sticker files
- Favorite captions or media
- Recent app preferences
- Connected folder settings
This data remains on your device unless you choose to delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not share your photos, videos, statuses, contacts, messages, or files with third parties.
Data may only be shared when:
- You choose to share media using your device's share options
- Required by law
- Needed by third-party services such as ads, analytics, or crash reporting, as described above
9. Children's Privacy
Mediakit is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
10. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect app data. Since most data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for maintaining your device security. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we aim to keep your data safe and private.
11. User Control
You can control your data by:
- Revoking app permissions from device settings
- Deleting saved media from the app
- Clearing app data
- Uninstalling the app
- Disconnecting folder access from app settings, if available
- Adjusting your ad-personalization / privacy choices from your device settings
12. Disclaimer
Mediakit is an independent utility app. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by WhatsApp LLC, Meta Platforms, Inc., or any related company. WhatsApp is a trademark of its respective owner.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted in the app or on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.

1. The short version
Mediakit runs on your device. It does not have accounts, it does not upload your photos, videos, documents or messages, and it cannot read your chats. The files you browse, save, resize, compress or export never leave your phone unless you share them yourself with another app.
2. What Mediakit does with your files
- You choose the folders. Nothing is scanned until you pick a folder with your device's own folder picker. Mediakit reads only the folder you picked and what is inside it.
- Reading is local. Listing a folder reads file names, sizes and dates. Opening a photo or video draws it on your screen. Neither sends anything anywhere.
- Saving makes a copy on your device in Pictures/Mediakit and Movies/Mediakit. That copy stays on your phone.
- Deleting is yours to confirm. Mediakit never deletes anything on its own. Every deletion is one you selected and confirmed.
- Sharing uses your device's own share sheet. When you share, your phone hands the file to the app you choose. What that app does with it is covered by that app's privacy policy, not this one.
Mediakit does not read, collect or transmit the contents of your files, your messages, your contacts, your call history or your location.
3. Permissions
PermissionAndroid versionsWhy
Folder access you grant in the system picker
11 and newer
To list the one folder you selected. It is a grant you make per folder and can withdraw in Android Settings at any time.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
10 and older only
The older way of reading the folder you chose. Not requested on Android 11+.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
9 and older only
Saving a copy on older Android. Not requested on Android 10+.
On Android 13 and newer, Mediakit requests no storage or media permission at all. It does not ask for photo or video library access, contacts, location, microphone, camera or phone permissions — because it does not need them.
Mediakit checks whether a small, fixed list of messaging apps is installed, so it can offer to open the right one. It cannot see the rest of your installed apps.
4. Information Mediakit stores
All of it is on your device, in the app's own storage:
- Which folders you granted, and which one is active.
- Your settings — theme, safety toggles, tool preferences.
- Recent numbers you typed into Direct Chat (kept so you do not retype them; capped and clearable).
- Whether an ad-free period is currently running.
Uninstalling Mediakit removes all of it. Copies you saved into Pictures/Mediakit and Movies/Mediakit are your files and stay on your device — delete them yourself if you want them gone.
§5 and §6 below describe Phase 6 integrations. Delete any that do not ship in v1.
5. Advertising
Mediakit shows ads to stay free. Ads are served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). To show them, AdMob may process device and ad identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, and information about how you interact with the ads.
- Mediakit does not give advertisers your files, file names, folders or anything you typed.
- You can watch an optional rewarded video to hide all ads for 24 hours. That is a choice, never a requirement — no feature is locked behind an ad.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Google's practices: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you are shown a consent screen before personalised ads are used, and you can change that choice later from the app's Settings.
6. Crash reports and usage data
Mediakit uses Google Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase to find crashes and understand which features get used.
- Crash reports contain the technical state of the app when it failed — device model, Android version, the code path that broke.
- Usage events record that a flow happened ("a folder was connected", "a status was saved"), never which files, never file names, never file paths, never file contents.
- Google's practices: https://policies.google.com/privacy
7. Children
Mediakit is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Your rights
Because Mediakit has no accounts and holds nothing about you on a server, there is no profile to export or delete — clearing the app's data or uninstalling it removes everything Mediakit stored. For anything processed by Google as described above, use Google's own controls linked in §5 and §6, or contact us at {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or India's DPDP Act. Write to {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}} and we will answer within 30 days.
9. Independence
Mediakit is an independent media utility. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any messaging or social platform. Any trademarks belong to their owners.
10. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above changes and the updated version is posted at the same URL before the change takes effect.
