Currency Converter is developed and published by ACKBiz ("we", "us", or "our"). Our website is https://www.ackplus.com/ and you can reach us at contact@ackplus.com.
What This Policy Covers
This policy explains what information Currency Converter collects, why we collect it, and how it is handled. We have written it to be straightforward and accurate to what the app actually does.
What We Collect and Why
(a) Email Address (Optional — Pro Waitlist Only)
If you choose to join the Pro waitlist inside the app, we collect the email address you provide. This is entirely optional and is only used to notify you about the Pro plan when it becomes available. If you do not join the waitlist, no email address is collected.
(b) Advertising Identifier and Device Data
The app is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob, with Unity Ads and Meta Audience Network as mediation partners. To serve and measure ads, these partners may collect:
- Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android)
- Coarse device information (device model, OS version, screen size)
- General usage signals related to ad delivery and measurement
On iOS, the app requests permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before your IDFA is accessed for personalised advertising. If you decline, ads may still appear but will not be personalised.
(c) Anonymous Usage Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example, which features are used most often and how frequently the app is opened. This data is anonymous and is not linked to your identity. No personally identifiable information is sent.
(d) Crash Diagnostics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive automatic crash reports. When the app crashes, a diagnostic report is sent that includes device type, OS version, and a stack trace. This helps us find and fix bugs. Crash reports do not include your name, email, or any content you have entered.
(e) Locally Stored Data (Never Leaves Your Device)
The app stores the following data on your device only:
- Your saved conversions and preferences
- Your selected currencies and base amounts in "My Rates"
- Cached exchange rates from the last successful refresh
- A bundled snapshot of exchange rates included in the app for offline use
None of this data is transmitted to us or to any third party. It exists solely on your device and is deleted if you uninstall the app.

The app integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy and data practices that we encourage you to review:

Exchange rate providers receive network requests from the app to fetch current rates. These requests may include your IP address as a side effect of standard internet communication, but we do not use or store that information ourselves.
How We Use Data
We use collected data to:
- Serve ads and keep the app free
- Understand app usage patterns so we can improve the app
- Diagnose and fix crashes and technical issues
- Contact you about the Pro plan if you have joined the waitlist
Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. The only sharing that occurs is through the third-party SDKs described above (ad networks, analytics, crashlytics), which operate under their own terms and policies.
Data Retention
- Email (waitlist): retained until you request deletion or the waitlist programme ends.
- Analytics and crash data: retained according to Google's / Firebase's standard retention settings (typically 14 months for analytics events).
- Ad-related identifiers: managed by the respective ad networks under their own retention policies.
- On-device data: retained until you uninstall the app or clear app data.
Security
We take reasonable technical precautions to protect the data we handle. Network requests to exchange-rate providers are made over HTTPS. On-device data is stored using the standard app storage provided by iOS and Android, which is sandboxed from other apps. No system is completely secure, but we limit what we collect to reduce risk.
Your Choices and Rights
Ad personalisation: On iOS, you can withdraw ATT consent at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, you can reset or opt out of ad personalisation in your device's Google settings.
GDPR (EEA/UK residents): You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you (such as your waitlist email). Contact us at contact@ackplus.com to exercise these rights. We will respond within 30 days.
CCPA (California residents): You have the right to know what personal information we have collected and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact us at contact@ackplus.com.
Waitlist email: You can request removal from the waitlist at any time by emailing contact@ackplus.com.
Children
Currency Converter is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
International Transfers
We are based in India. If you use the app from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data-transfer restrictions, please be aware that data processed by our third-party partners (Google, Meta, Unity) may be transferred to and stored in the United States or other countries. Those partners rely on approved transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the app.
